Hello, my name is Ashleigh Blackmon and I teach 8th grade Science. Teaching middle school Science for over 7 years has forced me to realize technology is an essential tool all educators should acquire. Continuous research has shown technology to be the catalyst which provides endless possibilities that innovate the overall experience for countless professions. I believe education is one of the professions that can utilize technology with the purpose of adding value to the learning environment. Teachers are able to create learning environments that facilitate authentic learning experiences, personalize student learning and increase student engagement as ownership of learning is fostered. Committed to being a life long learner, I am working to attain a Masters in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. Attaining this degree will equip me with tools to enhance the digital teaching and learning experiences for educators and students. As I share my digital teaching and learning experiences along the way, I hope to create excitement and collaborative relationships that birth creativity and growth.
